Populace Meeting - 12/1/09
Norman Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, Norman

Starts at 7:45pm.

Baron – Coronation and Queen’s Champion went well, as did BAM. There
have been two applications for my office…applications close on
Thursday.

Seneschal – some items in my letter in the Plume: we had one bid for
Beltane autocrat and tonight was the deadline, so unless someone hands
me another one before the end of the meeting we’ll accept the one we
have. Still open for applications for GAA and Protectorate
autocrats…GAA is open until February and Protectorate is open until
filled. There was talk about hosting King’s College…if someone wants
to bid it, they need to do so now since the applications are due to
Kingdom this month. Kingdom accepted our bid to host Round Table on
1/23/10. The offices of Rapier Marshal and Chronicler are open for
applications until January, and Knight Marshal is open until January
populace meeting (not February as in the Plume letter). Any questions
about the baronial selection process, please contact the Northern
Regional Seneschal…not me. Finally, we were approached by a
representative of the Barony of Wiesenfeuer to go in on the purchase
of a set of feast gear to be used by both baronies. The Finance
Committee decided to authorize a $250 expenditure for this item.

Treasurer – we made money on Protectorate. $6-8K in our account.
Budget for next year is being submitted this month.

Herald – please contact me with any questions you may have on name and
device submissions.

Chronicler – looking for a replacement, my publishing deadline is
generally the 20th of each month but you can ask if you need to submit
a little later.

Rapier Marshal – Queen’s Champion, 4 Namron residents fought and did
well so the practices are working. BAM was wet, but everyone had a
good time. There will be rapier fighting at Yule…Namron is hosting
the competition. I’ll also be having a Northern Regional muster after
the tourney at Yule. Practices are on Tuesday evening at Sellers
Recreation Center, 8301 S. Villa in Oklahoma City.

Knight Marshal – Practices are on Wednesday evening at Sellers
Recreation Center, 8301 S. Villa in Oklahoma City. Wiesenfeuer has
their practices on Thursday evening at Camp Dakani.

Baron – think about baronial “get togethers” where we meet at a park
and fight/visit

Hospitaler – Norman Mardi Gras will be Saturday, 2/13/10 in the
evening. The populace expressed interest in participating.

Archery Marshal – Wednesday night practices are being held, but you
should probably be at the journeyman level or higher to attend due to
the condition of the field and lighting. Sunday practices continue.
We’ll start making new arrows starting in January.

Thrown Weapons Marshal – practices are the 1st and 3rd Sundays before
archery practice. We will have thrown weapons at Yule. One of the
things we’re practicing is throwing spears at ground circles. Lots of
new people doing both Archery and Thrown Weapons.

Webminister – Congrats to HL Tadhg for winning Bordermarche Bard.
Need illustrations of devices for web site. I’m now the Facebook
coordinator for Gulf Wars. I’m looking for a deputy web minister.
I’ve created “blank” pages for the 2010 events…autocrats please let me
know what you want in them. I’m also looking for pictures of people
for the site…you need to give me a release so I can publish them.

Med Faire coordinator – talking with Linda Linn. Stuff that we’re
taking to Gulf Wars needs to be dried out for use at Med Faire since
it’s the weekend following GW. I’m looking for a post revel site,
preferably wet. I’d like to have a work day to go through the stuff
in the shed and do any repairs or prep work needed…we need to be
“ready” by the end of February.

Tadhg – Meraud and I will be hosting an Orphans’ Christmas at our home
Christmas night.

Ended at 8:29pm
