Barony of Namron Populace Meeting
1/20/09, Golden Corral restaurant, Norman

Starts at 7:42pm.

B&B (Muriel) – Hi, dinner and pop meeting again, people applaud,
King's Round Table was last weekend, much business was done, we appear
to be okay again with the Kingdom with regards to late reporting,
coming up…lots of places to be and things to do.

Seneschal – Med Faire Coordinator is Wolfgang, two proposals were
received, Wolfgang's team includes Chris McKinley and Michele Atwood.
We wanted a team effort since Med Faire has grown so large.

Beltane, accepting autocrat bids, closes on 2/17/09.  Beltane is at
Dakani, May 8th-10th.  Beltane dates for next year are May 9th-11th.

Need autocrat and feastocrat bids for Protectorate, closes second
meeting in May.  Trying to get E-Ko-Wah for Protectorate.

Open officer positions…MoC, Knights Marshal.

Discussion about meeting at Golden Corral, Rotary Club uses the
function room on Tuesdays for a few more months, room is open to us on
Wednesdays.  Some dislike of the Corral.  Suggestions for other
locations to Seneschal.

Jacqueline – Sewing/A&S night, 2nd Monday of each month, 6:30pm, her house

Muriel – Bjornsborg is having their 30th anniversary, high-period
event (SCA, 1979).  Same weekend as Samhain.

Skargardr Axeman is the weekend after Samhain, both this year and next
year.  Skargardr and Chemin Noir may get together and do a combined
event.

Treasurer – started 2008 at about $9,000, made about $1,500 in income
this year.  Office is open for application.  Made just over $900 on
Protectorate.

Chronicler – fairly quiet, I have Plumes, if you want something in the
Plume, get it to me ASAP.

Hospitaler – if you have new people coming, let me know.  I'll be
stepping down in May.

Archery Marshal – still shooting, Sunday afternoons, if the temp or
wind chill is below 40, don't come out.  This Saturday (24th) is NR
Fighter Practice.

Muriel – NR Fighter Practice will also a roundtable discussion about
how to talk to non-SCA people…a chance to talk to people who have done
it already.

Knights Marshal is not here, office is open.

TW Marshal – targets are made, we have axes and knives, TW practice
starts in February, 1pm, 1st and 3rd Sundays.

Rapier Marshal – training for War goes well.  Shows mask as first
loaner gear for the Barony, $25 on eBay.  NR Practice on Saturday.

A&S – Kat and Orlando's house, scribal work, Tuesday (?); fiber arts,
Wednesday, Hastings, 7pm to whenever; sewing night, 2nd Monday; Baron
will teach a class on silk painting on the 31st.

Kingdom A&S is in February, if you have something to display, Static,
Performance, and Research Paper categories.  People can create things
to go in the gift baskets…handwritten notes, etc.  If anyone wants to
go to Kingdom A&S, let her know as there may be carpool space;

Ansteorra 30th will be at Canton Trade Days; Beltane, titled artisan,
bring your best work and documentation for entry, talk to Annais.

Maleah – belly dance class, 2nd and 4th Wednesdays from 7-8pm at
Sander Music starting 1/28/09.  Sander charges $15/hour for the room,
we'll take donations for the cost.

Wolfgang – Med Faire, organizational meeting, 1st Wednesday in
February following populace meeting.  New encampment area this year,
northeast corner of park, twice as much space.  Discussion of what to
call ourselves on the Med Faire map, now SCA Embassy – Kingdom of
Ansteorra.  Need helpers, including court liaison.  SCA crown will do
their business outside of the Faire.  With the larger space, we're
going to do a "living history lane".

Wolfgang – email from Norman Mardi Gras parade, February 21st,
"celebrating ancient cultures in a time warp".  Group indicates that
they'd like to participate.

Annais – fiber arts, Wednesday, 7pm-whenever, Hastings.  11 people for
first meeting.

Gulf Wars is coming up, each group is creating a basket for other
kingdoms, we're doing Northshield, plan is to do portable games.

Meraud – 4th Sunday of month, 6pm, Shakespeare, bring your own copy,
same place as Cooks' night, which is still 2nd Sunday of month.

Kat – At NR fighter practice, Domi will be teaching belly-dancing

Muriel – Gulf Wars, Knowne World party, theme will be Monty Python and
the Holy Grail

Orlando – food plan for Gulf Wars, $8/person/day, includes food and
drink, see me for menus, also need volunteers.
