Populace Meeting - 11/3/09
Norman Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, Norman

Starts at 7:39pm.

Baron – Protectorate turned out good. Thanks to everyone for their
help, especially in packing up at the end. I was at the Harvest of
the Axe event, and we have a new Baron and Baroness of Northkeep. I
also announced that I was stepping down at Beltane.

Seneschal – summarizing what I put in the Plume; we are looking for
applications to autocrat Beltane, Protectorate, and Grand Assembly of
Archers if we’re to do it again next year. Protectorate and Beltane
autocrat applications are due by the December meeting. HL Tadhg will
be our Med Faire coordinator in 2010. We’ve talked about King’s
College, but I have no bids so far and they’re due to Kingdom by the
end of November. Coronation is this weekend. Queen’s Champion will
be the weekend after that…both are local events. Rapier Marshal and
Chronicler are currently accepting applications for their offices.
A&S night is this Monday, 11/9/09. The northern regional seneschal
sent us our populace numbers…94 paid members, of which 50 are
“sustaining”. 10 memberships expire in December, and another 16
expire in the first quarter of 2010. There is a demo in Moore this
Sunday, 11/8/09, from 3-6pm. Please contact Ian MacEwan to volunteer
to help. (Edit: Ian cancelled the demo on Thursday, 11/5/09.) We
had participation at the Haunted Forest activity at Camp Dakani, and
have earned a free site usage for our efforts. Officer reports are
due to me by the 5th of each month. The Barony will be paying for new
plates for the Crown (the office), and we’ll do a hat-passing for a
personal set for Their Majesties.

Med Faire coordinator (Jacqueline for Tadhg) – sorry I’m not here, I
had to be out of town tonight. Med Faire is coming up soon. I’d like
to get an inventory of the shed contents soon and identify anything
that needs to be repaired. I’d like to have most of the work done by
mid February. There will be some changes from last year…for example,
the layout is going to be changed around to improve traffic flow.
Please let me know if you have any questions or comments. Their
Majesties will be there.

Treasurer – I need Protectorate receipts tonight. Our share of the
Grand Assembly of Archers take was $250. We have at least $6,843
before the Protectorate accounting.

Chronicler – all okay, send me stuff to be published in the Plume.

Rapier Marshal – great weekend…we had a Northern Regional muster on
Sunday. Her Majesty will choose her Queen’s Champion later this
month. Some of us are going to Bordermarch Autumn Melees…if you want
to come along, let me know.

Hospitaler – We had a request from the OU Drama Department to borrow
an articulated helm. We also have two new pieces of loaner garb.

Thrown Weapons – going good. In December, we’re going to start having
Thrown Weapons practice on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month.

Herald – thank you for your help at Protectorate…my voice still worked
for evening court. Let me know if you have any name or device
submissions.

A&S – we made loaner garb last month. We need to do some more…if you
can’t make it to a meeting with the rest of us, get with me about how
to make some on your own. Everyone keep doing their crafts. We
always need stuff for the prize baskets.

Archery Marshal – Good showing at Protectorate, special mention for
Vincente. We’re still practicing on Sundays.

Web Minister – Web site update this coming Saturday.

Maleah – We’re having Thanksgiving at our house, feel free to come by,
there will be trivia. Also remember that there is drum and bardic
practice on Wednesdays.

There was an informational presentation by the Northern Regional
Seneschal about the upcoming baronial polling, including specific
points for the Letters of Intent and the polling procedure. I’m not
going to try and detail it here, because I’ll get it wrong. There
will be a separate posting from the Regional Seneschal with all of the
details. The next “date” would be Thursday, 12/5/09, when the Letters
of Intent are due to the Crown and the Populace.

Ended at 8:40pm
