[Namron] Round Table?

The tradition is to have expenditures over $250 brought before the populace, there is no rule that says the financial committee must do so. While I would encourage the Baron and the rest of the financial committee to get a decent consensus of the Barony before any large expenditure it is not always possible to do so at a populace meeting. The deadline for bids for this event is becoming critical. Most of the active populace today has computer access or lives with someone who does. There are times when the Barony needs to be flexible. In the past $400 would have been a huge hit to our finances, today that is not true. >From what I have seen so far, there have been NO negative comments on the issue except Alix's. If there is anyone else out there with valid objections now is the time to speak up. My opinion has not changed, we have the resources, the finances and the experience to pull this event off without any problems. Let's do it and not talk it to death.

Email is not the place to do official bussness or get approval for a expenditure of $400. this has to be done in a populace meeting. Because not every one has email.
So you can have an emergancy meeting to get the approval. you could then contact the Kingdom Seneschal and tell her that you will let her know after that meeting.
Also having already picked an autocarate with out opening it up is also wrong.
I do not have a problem with us doing the event .
I do have a problem with bending/breaking the rules to do so.

Unto the Populace of Namron,
Are we, as a Barony, interested in hosting Round Table in January? If so, who would be interested in being the designated autocrat? If we do want to host Round Table, we do have one site in mind (OCCC), but the cost would be $400. Is the Barony willing to pay the $400 for this site or does someone have another suggestion that would be cheaper or free?
The Kingdom Seneschal doesn't have any concrete bids at this time, so if we are interested then we need to let the Kingdom Seneschal know ASAP. See the included e-mail from the Kingdom Seneschal:
Greetings!
As of today I have no complete Round Table bids. Two branches have put in preliminary bids but both have had difficulties securing a site. This is a fairly easy event to run. Please discuss this with your group and let me know by early next week.

So, this is what I need to know (in a nutshell):
1. Are we interested in hosting Round Table?
2. If so, then who wants to be the autocrat?
3. Is the Barony willing to pay for a site?
4. If not, does anyone have an idea about a free site? (it would need classrooms and a large area like a cafeteria/student union/etc.)
Please let me know what all of you think,
Lady Jacqueline Reynolds
