[Namron] Namron Digest, Vol 60, Issue 43

Wow....we are really starting to make a mountain out of a mole hill on this
one. For clarity, what is currently being suggested is to eliminate time
waste during Pop Meeting by the officers by having them report only what is
actually relevant to the affairs of the office or the activity which it
governs. Historically, we officers have tended to drone on with lots of
irrelevant filler during our individual reports during Pop Meeting. What we
are going to do is simply trim the fat and get to the point, thereby
shortening the business portion of the meeting considerably. The overall
meeting may remain the same length for however long people choose to remain
and visit with one another.

There is no need for hyperbole, histrionics or melodramatics in the
discussion. Not one single person will be "disenfranchised" by having the
officers edit themselves to actual pertinent business when addressing the
populace. No one will be alienated, made to feel like their views are
unwanted, or run off with torches and pitchforks. Let's tone it down a
little, folks. We're all friends, at least enough to play this little game
that we do together called the SCA. When we have a disagreement, especially
when we have one that hasn't even materialized yet, let's all be adults and
give one another the benefit of the assumption of acting in good faith. As
long as we remain reasonable and mature about things, we can solve our
problems and challenges together in a constructive way, even tiny minor
little procedural issues like the frequency or length of Officers' Meetings.
