For those interested in free learning opportunities about our favorite time period, I just received information from Professor Steven Livesey at OU regarding the free lectures being offered in conjunction with the presidential dream course "Science in Medieval Culture". These lectures are free and open to the public. The first lecture is Tuesday, September 11 at 4:30 pm; Charles Burnett of the Warburg Institute (London), will speak about "Cultural Transmission across Religious Boundaries in the Middle Ages" at the Community Room in Zarrow Hall, 700 Elm Ave. You can view a list of all the lectures online at http://cas.ou.edu/medieval-dream-course .

Also, the Medieval Fair's Free Lecture Series begins Friday, September 14 at 6:30 pm at the Norman Public Library. The first lecture is by Professor Luis Cortest about The Camino de Santiago & Early Spanish Literature. The website has more information at http://www.medievalfair.org/lecture_series.html.
