[Namron] Fwd: [NR] GW Above and Beyond update

Just to add to Adalia's post - once you turn in vouchers for 10 hours of service, you receive a feather pendant and then another feather pendant for each successive 10 hours of service. Once you have turned in 15 hours of vouchers, you are invited to choose something from the Above and Beyond table located in Volunteer Point (and again at 30, 45, etc.) I've seen a lot of different things on the table over the years - pieces of armor, mugs, jewelry, trim, garb, feast gear. I think they even had a wooden chair one year. If it's something you are working on at war, they will accept donations pretty much up until the end - the table starts getting picked over mid war. New infusions of loot are always welcome.

  Felemid,

The Above and Beyond table is a table of gifts that are offered to people who go "Above and Beyond" in their volunteer efforts at the war. Basically, when a certain number of volunteer hours have been reached by a single person, that person gets to select an item from the Above and Beyond table.

So, as for what kind of crafts could be built for this table....I try to think of gifts that I would give to someone who had gone Above and Beyond for me personally. It's doesn't have to cost a ton...It doesn't have to miles of trim or anything like that...

Volunteers receive a metal leaf for working a certain number of hours, then when they go above that, they chose from the Above and Beyond table....

I can't really point you in the direction of what you should make as I don't know your skill sets...but hopefully, by understanding what the Above and Beyond is all about will help you to find a path for your crafts.

Thanks for your interest. Feel free to reach out to me with any other "newb" questions you have. I love the challenge of finding answers. :)

      Dear Ansteorra,

I've visited the lands of Northkeep and Bryn Gwlad, and have heard words of
generosity and enthusiasm for the thought of "cool stuff" on the Above and
Beyond table at Gulf Wars. I'd like to extend the conversation: Do you have
a craft that brings you joy in the process of creation? Please consider
making and bringing a small piece or three for the enjoyment of your fellow
Gulf Wars attendees who will spend substantial time working for everyone's
      benefit over our vacation.

I've heard promises of simple crafting kits (ie knitting: needles, a ball
of yarn, and a pattern; trichonopoly: a spool of wire, a dowel rod, small
wire clippers, and directions), hats, half-hand wrist warmers, leather
mugs, tooled leather mug coasters, silk pennants, card/inkle trim, and
more! If transportation of items is a concern for you, please let me know
and we can make arrangements to meet or have some other kind of hand-over.

Please do cross-post and pardon any cross-posting that is done. Thank you,
and I hope to see you at War in five weeks' time!
      ~Elsa
