We will _only_ be doing the demo at the Saturday matinee period which
will be from 11:00-6:00. No Friday demo.
You do not have to stay the entire day but I predict the heaviest crowds
will be between 11:00-2:00 so I hope most of you will be available
during these busy hours. I am going to take a logical guess late
afternoon we will see the percentage between children and adults begin
to swing towards the taller of the two.
Heavy fighters: wear your 'prettiest' armor. I once again will remind
the rapiers and heavy fighters, you will not be allowed to carry any
weapons. Helms can be worn or carried. I do not consider this a weapon
unless you plan on bopping a kid on the head with it.
If you would like to display anything special we can put it behind
glass. People love touching things, so think about anything that could
be displayed on the table such as a helm, fiber arts, etc. Remember,
safety is #1.
There will probably be quite a few cell phone cameras being used so
bring your 'prettiest smiles' too.
We will be walking around mingling, walking the ropes and interacting
with the crowds. Some will be at the tables answering questions, etc.
Those that plan to or occasionally asked to assist at the tables, feel
free to bring any handwork with you. Examples would be: embroidery,
nalbinding, drop spindle, etc. I discourage large items such as an inkle
loom because it will be too bulky within the area that we will be in.
You will be expected to come in your finest garb and to work a few
hours, at least. Most are planning to attend all day. You will be
flogged if you plan on coming only to see the movie and leave. Also, if
you do not have garb on you will be considered a patron and need to
purchase a ticket.
For those that would like to see the movie I will be working out a
lenient schedule so that we still have plenty of people working the
crowds. Most likely it will be later in the afternoon as the crowds
begin to lessen. Remember, we are there for the theater's promo.
Watching the movie for free is a nice agreement with the manager.
The staff is excited about the SCA coming to the Warren Theater and
promoting 'Brave'. Let's present our finest so that we may be asked to
come again each time they have a Medieval or Renaissance movie such as this.
