Early Stringed Instruments: Science, Sheep Gut, and Souls
6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m., Norman Public Library, 225 N. Webster, Norman, OK 73069
Plucked, bowed, or hammered, strings have dominated music for millennia. This presentation examines our ancient obsession with vibrating strings and how early cultures adapted stringed instruments for their musical preferences. John McWilliams, Associate Professor of Natural Science at Oklahoma Baptist University OBU will be presenting a program on the art, science, and history of early music. He and his wife Sherry perform as Rose Rock Consort at Medieval Fair and other venues. He also makes his own historically accurate instruments and will bringing some for display.

Sincerely (182 days until Fair),
