I hear ya...althought the facebook groups can be used as a mailing list.

For instance to post a message to the namron facebook group just use
namron at groups.facebook.com
and to recieve all messages it's a bit trickier...you have to turn
on receive email notifications for groups in your facebook settings. This
feature is off by default.
