[Namron] April Arts and Sciences Class

I am working with HL Margherita for this month’s baronial arts & sciences
class. It will be this coming Monday April 11th from 7p-9p at the West Wind
Unitarian Universalist Church 1309 W. Boyd in Norman.

We will be making and decorating spangs for our upcoming baronial event,
Beltane (April 29th-May 1st).

A spang is a Norwegian bean bag (actually rice-filled) frog. Beltane
incorporates two activities with the spangs. One where the spang is soaked
in water and then thrown at hula hoops (typically held by Their
Excellancies). The other is a spang decorating contest. This year’s theme
is “comic books”. This month’s arts and sciences meeting can get you
started on your decorated spang! I will have some spangs mostly sewn –
ready to be filled with rice and decorated. I will also bring my sewing
machine and a spang pattern in case you have a fabric you would like to
use. I will have some scrap fabrics and ribbons for decorating, but please
bring your creative ideas, fabric scraps or other decorations you would
like to use on your spang. I will also try to bring some examples from
previous years.

The cut out patterns should be about the size of an 8-1/2 x 11 piece of
paper.

Please let me know (the sooner the better) if you are planning on coming
and would like a pre-sewn spang so I can make sure I have enough. Let me
