[Namron] Sales Tax Policy Update

Greetings, all,

We have received some questions about the recent addition to the Barony of
Namron Financial Policy.

I'd like to explain a little about the recent State Tax policies additions
to the Namron Financial Policy.

The Barony of Namron enjoys the added value of having merchants at our
events, as it contributes to The Dream in many ways. Unfortunately, we are
not always able to accommodate merchants, depending on site requirements,
but when we are able to, we currently require 30 days advance registration.
This allows our event stewards sufficient time for final layout and
schedule approvals.

We would hate for a merchant to spend the time loading all of their wares,
only to arrive at the event and be turned away from merchanting for an
expired ID or lack of proper documentation.

Current requirements state that we must retain a record of all
participating merchant sales tax IDs for each event. Having this completed
in advance ensures our timely compliance.

Following Round Table in July, the Namron Financial Committee will be
conducting a full review and revision of our Financial Policy. In the
meantime, the current Sales Tax and Merchant Registration procedures will
only affect Beltane, as Coronation will not have merchants due to space
limitations. We welcome commentary and suggestions by email from the
Populace on all matters, not just this one. The website is currently
undergoing intensive reconstruction, and the Financial Policy will be
posted there upon completion.
