[Namron] Medieval Fair Free Lecture Series

Dear colleagues,
The next Medieval Fair / CMRS talk is coming up soon: Nov. 5, 6.15-7.30.
This time, Prof. Luis Cortest of the Spanish Department will be exploring the story of King Alfonso X of Castile (1252-84), who ruled a court that mingled Christians, Jews, and Muslims in a joint culture of scientific inquiry and artistic creation.
Alfonso himself was an author, a lawmaker, and an astrologer-remembered among other reasons as the creator of the beautiful Cantigas [Songs] of Santa Maria and as the dedicatee of the Moon's Alphonsus Crater.
The talk will take place at Norman Public Library CENTRAL, 103 W Acres St, Norman, OK 73069, in the spacious Redbud Room on the 3rd floor. The talk will be in-person and live-streamed. Here's the zoom link:
