[Namron] March Populace minutes

[Seneschal of Namron]

Their Excellencies:

TE appreciate the Barony’s resilience and support for each other when
disasters strike. Check your shelters, flash lights, etc. as we look to
have an early storm season. Don’t be afraid to reach out for support (or
provide it).

Gulf Wars is coming up and thanks to those who are setting up early. If you
haven’t given Duchess Margherita your tent dimensions, they don’t have a
space laid out for you. Get her your info asap. Dennis, Ellen and Robert
are going to Gulf Wars for their first time and have volunteered to be our
camp stewards.

Hellsgate’s Commander’s Crucible coming up later in March after the War.
Elfsea Defender will be hosting the Kingdom Trident to determine the
Kingdom Bardic, Missile, and Cut and Thrust champions.

The Medieval Fair is coming up, March 31st – April 2nd at Reeve’s (not
Andrew’s) Park. Please keep an eye out for loadout and setup days. Please
come out and help however you can, even if it’s just an hour or two, to
allow someone else to take a break and enjoy the rest of the fair. All
volunteers are welcome and appreciated.

Our April Populace meeting will be held at Sir Eadwulf and Mistress Kyna’s
house. It will be a newcomer’s mini-event to welcome interested people met
at the Fair. If you can come early to help setup, that would be appreciated.

Virtual storm and Kriegshelt meeting will be scheduled sometime after Gulf
Wars.

We’ll have Spring cleaning gatherings in the Spring/Summer to help
repair/paint the pavilions.

Want to thank everyone who came out to the scribal arts day; quite a few
scrolls were made and people learned a number of new things regarding the
making of scrolls. They also want to thank Sarah of Namron, who was the
Sole Survivor of the Mardi Gras parade. Put on a display of sword fighting
for the judges. Also want to thank Dona Ashildur, Lady Halldora, and Lord
Saevarr for opening up their home to host various baronial get togethers.

New officers: Thaddeous (Rapier), Finn (Chivalric), Xavier (Webminister),
and Valencia (Chronicler)

We have a website and a newsletter.

Seneschal:

Don Cornelius and Lady Sabine are offering to run the Namron rapier
practice during the week of Gulf Wars provided they can get a hold of the
loaner gear.

There are numerous open officer positions (empty positions that haven’t had
someone for a while). Her Excellency would very much like a Social Media
officer.

Beltane Tavern bids are being accepted until the 23rd (Namron business
meeting).

Nibs and Needles is working on a date. Leaning towards the middle or end of
summer currently.

Kolfinna is hosting the Knowne World Party and Yancy is laughing. Ansteorra
is actually hosting it, but the Barony of Namron is coordinating the Knowne
World Party. If you’re available on Friday, please come help with the setup.

Master Mahadi will be unable to attend Gulf Wars due to house-related
issues. As such, he stepped down as Rapier General for the War. Don Facon
of Northkeep has been named the new Rapier General.

Medieval Fair Coordinator(s):

Needs someone to sit in the Arts & Sciences area, someone to keep up with
the close privies, site beautification and maintenance, and a List
coordinator. Come help whenever you can.

Trying to get a card reader to enable electronic signups to help draw
students but will have backup signup forms. Ideally, we’ll be able to draw
enough students to open a campus club. Thrown weapons and combat archery
won’t be happening.

Medfair needs to be advertised on the list so that we can draw support from
the rest of the Principality. A list campaign is currently planned.

Some people will likely be away on Saturday due to the Trident event.
However, some members of Steppes are planning on coming up to support us in
fighting, arts, music and dancing.

  Beltane Autocrat(s):

March 27th there will be a workday/meeting. We’ll be working on site tokens
and spangs, and there will be snacks and general silliness. There will be a
fantastic quest (The Beltane Quest of Epicness). Beltane will also have
foolery, bardic, campfire bardic, and a not-so-hafla hafla. It will be very
family focused.

Lady Euphemia:

Medieval Fair posters are now available. Please feel free to take some and
help get the word out about it. Straw bales may be an issue, so we may need
to work on an alternate plan. They will need help building the city. Ground
painting will begin on Friday the 24th and the grand ribbon cutting for the
new ballfields is Saturday the 25th.

  (Semi) Final business: Their Excellencies, Micolay and Julia Haiduk, are
moving to Calontir. They’ll be visiting for Beltane, and invite us to
attend Valor and other events up in Calontir. They were presented with a
scroll thanking them for their time, Their kindness, Their love, and Their
service to the Barony.

  Adena and Leah had their birthdays, so we sang the dirge for them. Then
we had pie (which was actually unrelated to their birthdays, but convenient
timing).
