Not due to the time of year, but simply due to supply.</DIV><DIV><BR class="khtml-block-placeholder"></DIV><DIV>Every few years the bee population is devastated by bee mites. When this happens prices can double or triple and will stay up until the following year's harvest - assuming the bee mites don't cause a problem two years in a row.</DIV><DIV><BR class="khtml-block-placeholder"></DIV><DIV>Sixty pounds won't be a problem. Last time a group of us purchased honey in bulk we purchased 300 pounds. </DIV><DIV><BR class="khtml-block-placeholder"></DIV><DIV>BTW: I have not found an apiary that gives a discount for large purchases.
