Please cross post this clarification to relevant Kingdom lists.
Recently questions have come up regarding submission of IKEqC scores
from "unofficial" practices. In previous years, unofficial practices
were allowed by the SCA and score submission from these practices was
allowed for IKEqC.
Recently it has come down that to be called an SCA EQ practice, it
must be official (i.e., sponsored by a local group/published in a
newsletter as an SCA practice, and the SCA EQ insurance must be
activated). For the record, the IKEqC games are not a function of the
SCA, and are not in any way affiliated with SCA, Inc. IKEqC is a
separate entity run for the joy of competition - we just happen to
have a lot of the same participants. :-)
HOWEVER, because submission of IKEqC scores requires an SCA EQ Marshal
be present (and this is an officer of the SCA), the lines between the
two can become blurred. Also, participants often want to change their
SCA authorization level when IKEqC is run, and IKEqC divisions echo
the SCA authorization levels, which further blurs the lines between
the two in peoples' minds.
As a result and to keep things simple & consistent, IKEqC scores may
only be submitted for official SCA practices or events from this point
(AS 42) forward. Scores from anything unofficial, where there is no
SCA insurance, will no longer be accepted.
I have updated the IKEqC rules and regulations for AS 42 to reflect
this, along with the score sheets. The website

score sheets this week. Please accept my apologies for not catching
