The Honorable Lord Etienne de Saint Amaranth and Lady Rosamund <br>
Blaunchflur are pleased to announce a small (and surprise, so do not <br>
mention it to her) tournament in honor of the birthday of their eldest <br>
daughter (a Byzantine), Theodora Tzykandelina. The tournament site <br>
will open between 1 and 2 in the afternoon with the tournament <br>
starting around 2:30, at Theodora's pleasure.<br>
<br>
The tournament will be a double elimination format. Fighters are <br>
welcome to continue practicing after the tournament. Combatants, at <br>
Theodora's pleasure, will be assigned a color as will her guests of <br>
the party. Combatants will represent and champion Theodora's guests <br>
who choose the same color. Guests (children) will be designing arms/ <br>
devices which they will color on the fighter's token and they will <br>
also be decorating small cakes with the arms they select.<br>
<br>
Combatants wishing to enter, and get in a last set of practice prior <br>
to traveling to the Gulf Wars, need to respond to Lady Rosamund no <br>
later than Wednesday, March 4, who will forward formal invitations <br>
with directions and further information. Site is in NW Oklahoma <br>
City. No tents or pavillions can be erected but bring chairs, etc.<br>
<br>
This is not an official or SCA sponsored event in any way. But the <br>
tournament, for the sake of practice, will be conducted according to <br>
SCA rules and armor requirements and this should be treated as any <br>
other unofficial backyard practice.<br>
<br>
The 10-day forecast currently predicts a 72 degree day, partly cloudy, <br>
with a 10% chance of rain.<br>
<br>
If we do not have enough combatant interest, then we'll forgo the <br>
tournament (another reason not to mention it to Theodora).<br>
<br>
Children's invitations are forthcoming but if you have a son or <br>
daughter who would feel comfortable at a (to be) 7-year-old's birthday <br>
party, make sure you let Lady Rosamund know and we'll make sure your <br>
child gets an invite.<br>
