studied books of period military history, and if you look beyond the hand to
hand combat, you see an array of interesting and often mysterious siege and
other military gadgets. Recently <b><i><span style='font-weight:bold;
font-style:italic'>NatGeo</span></i></b> or one of the similar channels did a
documentary analyzing and interpreting some of the more unusual items,
attempting to figure out what exactly they were and then recreating them.

this book was actually his catalog-much of the descriptive text he wrote was
intentionally mysterious. After all he did not want to give away his

for the illustrations. As Baron Orlando recently highlighted in a class
on Iconography, which is the interpretation of images, you can have plenty of
