I know many questions are out there about the Yule plans and I hope all of<br>
your questions will be answered shortly. If I have missed anything, or you<br>
think of something new you need to know please just let me know. You can<br>

"My goal for this event is to create the ambiance of a castle hall in period<br>
Europe where we have all gathered to celebrate the Winter holidays." Those<br>
are my words from my original bid and it is with that in mind that I have<br>
made the other plans. No more specific theme has been planned outside of our<br>
desire to share in the joy of the season with our friends and family in the<br>
SCA. Below you will find the most recent version of the schedule.<br>

We will be painting banners on Thursday Nov 3 at 6:30 p.m. I am still<br>
waiting to here if we will be able to meet for this at the church. I think<br>
it will work out and this will give us an opportunity to take a short tour<br>
around the church before the event. I still need a digital copy of the<br>
baronial badge so we can be ready to use the projector to get the pattern on<br>
the banners. A volunteer to do it free hand will work too.<br>
<br>
My understanding is that the following Thursday there will be a gate class<br>
by our reeve. Check with Aldric for further information.<br>
<br>
We have included time on the schedule for several classes. If you are<br>
interested in being an instructor please let me know so we can get you on<br>
the schedule. This is also a good time to set up a consultation table if you<br>
prefer to work one on one rather than in a classroom setting. please also<br>
let me know if there is a class you are interested in taking. If I know you<br>
have an interest I may be able to find an instructor. <br>
<br>
Most of you already know about chocolate roulette. We are also going to have<br>
other games and entertainments set up through the afternoon. You are also<br>
all invited to bring chess or other games to play in the hall during the<br>
event. I have a couple of 9 man Morris games and a chess board, but this is<br>
a great opportunity for us to learn more about period games.<br>
<br>
The Crown will be present at yule, and that has affected our plans. A<br>
Pelican circle will be held in the afternoon. We will also be having an<br>
elevation to the Order of the Laurel, (YEA Ciaran!) which also includes a<br>
vigil in the afternoon as well as extended time in court. The presence of<br>
royalty increases the responsibilities of our Baron and Baroness and they<br>
may need extra entourage to meet all those responsibilities. Please consider<br>
speaking to them, or Cadlah (royal liaison for our B&B) about helping out.<br>
<br>
Due to all of the important Court business, we have had to cancel the<br>
planned dessert banquet that was to follow court. Instead we will be serving<br>
these goodies through out the day. Everyone is invited to bring other treats<br>
to share.<br>
<br>
Our MOC is making big plans for the children. Father Christmas and his elves<br>
will also be making an appearance in the afternoon. The elves have requested<br>
that we let them know about the children we know will be attending ahead of<br>
time. Reservations are not required, only requested.<br>
<br>
Please also think about bringing an ornament for our ornament exchange. I<br>
came across a lovely beaded bell this weekend and I plan to bring it for my<br>
contribution. Everyone who wishes to participate will bring one ornament to<br>
contribute to the decorating of a tree, and then will be invited to choose<br>
another ornament to take home at the end of the day.<br>
<br>
I am looking for bards and musicians to help with the entertainment and<br>
ambiance for the hall. Please let me know if you are interested in playing,<br>
and also if you have any suggestions about SCA appropriate carols we can all<br>
sing.<br>
<br>
There will also be a need for less glamorous duties. We need to remember<br>
that we are the hosts of this event and that it is our responsibility to<br>
keep the hall and other areas picked up through the day. Restrooms will need<br>
to be cleaned, and all the other messy clean up chores. If we all do a<br>
little, it will be light work for all.<br>

Almost finished here, I promise. :) We will be having many of our guests<br>
coming from out of town. If you have crash space available, please let me<br>
know. I promise to be discrete and give you a private veto to anyone before<br>
I just send them to your house. Crash space can be anything from a guest<br>
room to floor space for people to bring their own bedding, you pick. Again,<br>
please let me know if you have space available, and if not me, then at least<br>
your friends and family. :).<br>
