NR - First Medieval Faire-Enid/Wastelands

Greetings To All:

        The Shire of the Wastelands will be holding it's yearly public
demo
at the Friends of Government Springs Park Medieval/Renaissance Garden
Faire
from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday May 16th.  This is the innagural event
for
what sponsors hope will become the first yearly Medieval Faire in
Northwest
Oklahoma.  There will be a number of vendors and concessions.  There has

been a ton of publicity, and the Friends of Gov. Springs are
coordinating
vendors and running the food booths.  All we have to do is show up, look

good, and introduce others to this great game we play.

        The Shire of the Wastelands, with the help of many of our
friends,
are providing the Opening and Closing Parades, Equestrian Display,
Middle
Eastern Dancing and Drumming, Arts and Sciences Display and
Demonstrations,
a Wandering Wizard, a number of Bards, musicians and entertainers, and
of
course both Rapier and Armoured Combat.

        Please join us EARLY Saturday morning.  We will set up pavilions
and
the list field.  The circular drive North of the park will close at 9:00

a.m.  Get there early if you need to unload.

        Government Springs Park is located just north of Owen K. Gariott

Road (Hwy 412), just south of St. Mary's Mercy Hospital, and just east
of
fourth street.  To get to the park take your best route to Enid:

        *From Highway 81* turn east on Owen K. Gariott (hwy 412).
Fourth
street is a light approximately one mile east on OK Gariott (hwy 412).
Turn
left (north) at the light.  Follow the signs to the Emergency Room at
St.
Mary's Hospital.  When you get to the hospital, we are in the park
directly
South (to your right).

        *From I-35* take Hwy 64/412 to Enid.  64 will exit to the right
(north) as you enter town.  STAY ON 412--it becomes OK Gariott.  Follow
Gariott to Fourth street.  You will pass the park on your right side.
Turn
right (north) on Fourth.  Follow the signs to the Emergency Room at St.
Mary's Hospital.  When you get to the hospital, we are in the park
directly
South (to your right).
