It rained. It rained a lot. It got a bit nippy. It rained some more.
Alright, well, it only "misted" most of the day and night.

A couple of hundred fools showed up to play in the "mist". The fighting
went well (gorillas in the mist?), and some wonderful things were put out on
the A&S table. The bardic competition was held outdoors, and the
contestants were told it would count against them if it started raining
during their performance. It stayed dry all the way through. The bardic
theme was "Norse invasions", and the Norse were thoroughly slammed in story,
song, and poetry, with only a few "truthful" pieces in there. The new Bard
of Eldern Hills is Lady Bella O'Rourke.

The children went trick-or-treating, and were given kazoos. Anyone who
didn't have treats got kazooed. I got kazooed twice.

The feast was delicious, with split pea soup, Finnish meatloaf, and other
fine things. Despite a now solid downpour, the fires and the revelry lasted
until dawn.
