Greetings unto Ansteorra's populace
>From Lady Arabella de Montacute,
Steward of the 20th Anniversary of Elfsea Defender,
First, let me apologize for multiple postings, some of this information
is very important, I wish for everyone who has the opportunity to hear
the words.
(A shameless plug first..) The 20th Anniversary of Elfsea Defender is
this coming weekend, September 25th, 26th, and 27th! We have a great
event planned. I hope all can attend. Lists will run for Heavy,
Rapier, and Archery competitors for the chance to represent Elfsea as
our Defenders. Wonderful prizes and original Scrolls will be awarded to
the tourney winners. Our different Culture Camps, Burgundian, Celtic
and Norse, are a great place to savor and experience other cultures.
Several very exciting acknowledgements will happen during court, as well
as other Court business, and fabulous parties in the evenings.
Sunday there will be a Newcomers List for those who have fought
heavy for less than one year. And the very best, The Gauntlet. This
tourney was to take place at Gothic War, and was rescheduled for Elfsea
Defender. Honourable Lady Kathrine de Laine will be sponsoring this
list and has donated a terrific hand and a half great sword. (The best
reason to stay and fight is the opportunity to win this beautiful
sword.) The list will be run as follows: Everyone will line up in two
rows facing each other. Each fighter will fight all other fighters.
Each fight will last for 3 minutes, points will be scored - 2 for
victory, 1 for a draw, 0 for loss. At the end of round one the top 50
percent fighter scores will advance to the next round. List will
continue in this fashion until only 6 people remain to a double
elimination, and victor.

Now Other Very Important Stuff - Particularly Fire and Water:

1. - THE WATER WELL ON THE SITE HAS DRIED UP DUE TO DROUGHT - PLEASE
BRING WATER. Two shower stalls will be provided for camping shower
bags.
2. - The site is WET in period containers, Please.
3. - ONLY COOKING Fires permitted in ground fire pits (12 inches deep)
or secure above ground containers with fire extinguisher in view.
Unattended fires will be extinguished.
4. - WELL-SECURED Tiki Torches ARE allowed.
5. - NO PETS - other than assistance animals and must have written proof
of Rabies Vaccination - sorry, site owner specifications.
6. - Kingdom Law: Children under 18 will not be allowed on site without
a parent or guardian. You must be over 21 and have a NOTARIZED
permission slip signed by the parent/guardian if you bring children who
are not your own. NO EXCEPTIONS.
7. - Children are not allowed on the porch of the Brown's Store or in
the RV area play ground. An adult must attend children at all times.
8. - There will be a tavern on site serving breakfast, lunch and dinner
on Saturday. (There is a rumor that an ice cream vender will be there
on Saturday afternoon.)
