Diarmaid,
While I'm sure not all is sunshine and roses in Northkeep, nor
anywhere else in the Northern Region, one has to wonder what the point
is that you are trying to make.
Sure, people become disenchanted with the SCA or their local groups
for various reasons. But even you have to admit that sniping at
Northkeep because they put forth a lot of effort and always win Toy
Tourney is really petty. Is there really resentment of Northkeep because
they always win Toy Tourney? If so, I've never seen or heard tell of it.
Of course, Mooneschadowe is thankfully out of the loop for most of the
gossip going around, except for our own troubles.
If you really know of a problem regarding Toy Tourney, let the list
hear it. Don't just make insinuations and attacks. Perhaps the problem
is not that Northkeep always wins, but that some in Northkeep think that
the Barony puts too much emphasis on Toy Tourney, to the detriment of
other worthy Baronial pursuits. IF so, that is an entirely different
matter than what was posted. If the issue is a debate over Northkeep's
priorities, then truly that discussion should be conducted internally.
I think it was inappropriate for you to berate Britta for supporting
Northkeep's Toy Tourney efforts, as you did. Well, at least you proved
her wrong. Some people are bold enough to gutter-snipe in public.
