Be it so that we, the Barony of Bjornsborg, gentles and nobles of the
realm of Ansteorra, born of nobility without reproach have requested
that all comers gentle of name and of arms would show us their
prowess, courtesy and honor in arms at our celebration of Michaelmas
in October with a passage of arms. Being that the Archangel well
supports such contests for exercise to them that honor desires and
that feats of arms have raised men to honor, in serving their princes.
Between us so appointed to do and accomplish the said arms in foot
combat before the most illustrious and most excellent and most
puissant of esteemed nobles of this region. Bring to the field of
glory your shield for challenge and the weapons you will use, be they
baited or sharpened. Four fields will be offered for the sheer joy of
combat, prowess and courtesy, to include a barrier, a ring of chalk,
an open field and an alley to enclose fights on the pass. Join us in
the exercise and feats of the necessary discipline of arms for the
simple joy of combat.

If you wish to honor us with your participation please let us know by
sending your mailing address to Lionardo at zarlor at acm.org. In return
we will send you a booklet detaling the rules of the lists and a few
helpful articles on heraldic display and a template for making the
challenge shield.

If you are unsure of your artistic abilities in placing your arms or
some other emblem you wish to use onto such a shield, the heralds of
Bjornsborg have offered to assist, for a $10 fee, in creating such a
shield for your use. Send your design to Lady AElfwyn (Jodi McMaster)
(jmcmaster at accd.edu) or HL Agrippina (Mary Ann Goodhue)
(GoodhueMA at aol.com) 1-210-666-8683.

Honos Servio,
Lionardo Acquistapace, Bjornsborg
