I had to comment on this particular point since it has nothing to do
with a Principality.

I doubt *any* Crown just threw away your recommendation. They get lots
of recommendations all the time that they have to decide what to do
with. These run the whole gammet of people who have been woefully
overlooked to those people trying to promote their undeserving friends.

There are many ways to help increase the odds that your recommendation
will be heard by them. Here are just a couple.

1) Get the local Landed's to back it as well.
2) Get the local Peers in the area of question to back it.
3) Do a roster award rec form. (I hate these, but they can show that
   lots of people support it.)
4) Write a truly good recommendation so they realize they need to ask
   more people.

If you do #1 or #2, you are also more likely to get feedback of the sort
that will help you realize why they don't get the award. My personal
recommendation is #4 with a copy sent to the local Landed. This can
greatly increase your chances cause the local Landed may be swayed by
your recommendation.

While having a CP may cause some people to *think* that it will increase
their odds of being heard, there will still be just as many people in
the region being recommended. You will still need to do something to help
the recommendation stand out from the crowd.

Ciao,
