NR - Principality or Not?

...I love a challenge and I think becoming a Principality will add a lot to
the northern region. I think our landed nobles in the north also love a
challenge or they wouldn't be sitting where they are today. If they didn't
love a challenge they wouldn't be participants in fighting, politics, arts
and sciences, service, or bardic. Many of them hold or have held northern
regional offices. These are not lazy people. The baronies of the north,
while they may have some people in them that don't work nearly as hard as
others, they still work at the events, they work on their garb, they work at
crafts, they work at spreading the word, and yes some of them work by having
fun and reminding the rest of us that the SCA is supposed to be a fun hobby.
The populace members of the northern shires, cantons, and strongholds must
work exceptionally since their our usually so few of them. The SCA is NOT a
lazy man's game. A principality would involve much work, but I don't think
any of us are afraid of work.

I believe that the northern region has enough participants to become a
principality. I believe that their is enough northern spirit, to inspire
the whole region into supporting a principality. I believe that becoming a
principality will strengthen our northern family. I believe it will make us
appreciate our connection with Ansteorra, and 'grow up' as a region. I
believe that two years ago we had a regional unity that couldn't be topped
anywhere in the known world. I remember our fighting forces for Gulf War
worked together and fielded the largest forces on the field. I believe we
can do this again. I believe the unity is still strong for most of us, in
some form or another.

Thank you for listening,
Kelandra

Principality talks have seemed to die down today, I hope it is not because
people are afraid to speak out.
