Unfortunately, there is a shire in Calontir named: Shire of the Spinning
Winds (southern Nebraska I believe, but don't quote me on the exact
location). Coming from Namron where the Sable Storm is pre-eminent I don't
have a problem with weather things but I like the beasty ideas better for
the new symbol.

And to comment on harking back to the old Atenveldt roots:

The setting sun in the bottom of Ansteorra's device is the setting sun of
Atenveldt (whose device is blue with a golden sun in it's splendor with a
gold laurel wreath, and I know that's not proper blazoning but I was trying
to use plain English for those who don't bath in heraldry). That's part of
where the song "The Rising of the Star came from, the setting sun of
Atenveldt giving way to the rising star of Ansteorra. A phoenix could be
tied in with that symbology since it is traditionally shown sitting in the
flames as if about to leap into the sky. I'm not for or against the idea was
just bringing out some history and a possible tie in.

Discuss, discuss,

and NOOOOO Red, red icky, phtooey, yuck!!!!!!!
