I don't think this is nit-picking, but I do think you misunderstood.  I could 
be wrong, but I believe Lord Llygoden was referring to the responsibilities 
of a Principality Prince and Princess.  Just as our Landed Nobles (are not 
required to, but do) feel they have to attend many Kingdom events, he was 
asking would not our Prince and Princess also feel even more that way.  
Probably to some degree they might, but probably not nearly to the extent 
that the Landed Nobles do. 

Someone also mentioned (I confess I've read so much I don't remember who or 
why) that once Royalty step down they are no longer Royalty and can go back 
to doing what they did before.  Not so, once Royalty, be it King and Queen or 
Principality Prince and Princess, they are always considered Royals and 
remain a part of the Royal Family.  Though they can, and many do, go back to 
working just as hard  there are even more demands made on them and it is 
somehow viewed differently.  HE Sigen made a good point.  It's often not what 
you are willing and want to do, but what others will let you do.
