Well, here are some Irish ideas...
Windy Land = Gaofartir...which lends itself to lowbrow humor.
The Irish for Storm is Stoirm, stormy would be Stoirmeach
Ugly Weather = Granna Aimsir
Hard winds = Cruagoath
Since lightening was mentioned, the Irish for lightening is Tintreach
