I am afraid that I can not sit by and let this go un-corrected. You say
that two baronies have been shafted over NRT and I would have to strongly
disagree. I don't think that Eldern Hills who successfully hosted the
event last year feels shafted. Nor Northkeep who is now to host this years
NRT. This leads me to think that you must mean Namron and Wiesenfeuer. As
to Namron and this year, I know that there is a lot more to the situation
than has been posted here and everyone needs to step back and consider that
no one has posted (nor probably will post) the total story here. As both
Master Richard and Their Excellencies Namron have stated, if you want to
know more ask them privately. This leads me to Wiesenfeuer, I can't see
how after starting and hosting this wonderful event successfully for six
years, Wiesenfeuer can be faulted for wanting to try something new. I
remember the discussions at populace meetings as early as 1 month after the
6th NRT as to whether Wiesenfeuer should host the event again. I also
remember statements being made on numerous occasions that Wiesenfeuer was
tired of doing the lion's share of the work (as you have previously pointed
out usually happens to the hosting group) and was ready for a change. I
can't find fault with a Crown and Regional seneschal that wanted to allow
something noblely started, to continue to the glory of the region and
Kingdom. If Wiesenfeuer had wanted to host NRT a seventh time, I know that
everyone in the region would have rallied around just like always, but they
didn't. So how was Wiesenfeuer shafted? I don't see it. Wiesenfeuer
started a new event (Mead Bee's War) that to all accounts was very
successful. According to the Kingdom calender this year will be the second
Mead Bee's War and I am sure it will be just as big a success as the last
one was. No one took anyone's date, nor stopped anyone from holding an
event. So again I ask where is the shaft?

Lastly, you also wrote "Nor will it change the fact that in jumping in to
"save the day" a third northern barony has condoned those actions", that is
hogwash and you know it. How could any group responding to a simple
request from a Kingdom officer, be accused of condoning any actions that
they did not know about. It was simply stated on this list by Their
Excellencies Namron that "Due to circumstances we are unable to resolve,
the Barony of Namron will no longer be the host of Northern Regional
Tribute to Ansteorra.". The same day the NR Seneschal posted the following
to the list as well as all of the local seneschal's and Landed
nobles, "Greetings Folks! It's your NR seneschal here- We (as a region)
have a problem. Namron has just pulled out as our hosting group for
"Tribute". I need a hosting group ASAP. Our final event announcement
needs to go in by Jan. 1st. Shall we pay tribute to our Grand Kingdom? I
sincerely hope so. Much of the planning is done. Please contact me ASAP if
your group is willing to jump in." By 3:00pm the next day the new hosting
group was chosen and announced, again to this list among other
places. This leaves little time to become aware of some vast conspiracy to
do insult or harm to Namron. If you look, you will see that almost all of
this discussion has happened here (on the list) after the fact, not before,
so it is really unfair to accuse anyone of condoning anything by responding
to the NR seneschal's call. Also, since in all of these cases the Crown
and Seneschallete were involved, I guess that you feel the Crown and
Seneschallete are wrong and should apologize. I would tend to trust the
Crown and its officers, especially when I don't have the complete story.
