Burke,

Isn't this what the "Northern list" moderated by
Pug,et alia, is for?

Why do we need another one? The Northern list is open
to everyone, isn't it? I for one think this is
redundant and unnessasary.

How is your New List different from the Northern list
we already have? I see this as a waste of band-width,
computer hard drive space, and time.

What are the benefits of having 2 lists for the same
purpose? Are there people out there who feel that if
they should voice their opinion on this list, they
will be ridiculed? I know I have, but if your New
List is open to everyone, how will that feeling chage
for me and others?

Who is to be the moderator? If it is not moderated by
an officer of Ansteorra, how can I be guaranteed that
what I post will be met with impartiability? How do I
feel secure in knowing that I will not be removed for
voicing my thoughts and opinions?

Where will the subscribtion prosess be handled and how
will the word be spread that it is out there? There
will be those who sign up to the Northern list at a
later date and never be aware of the fact that your
extra list is out there. They will feel unimportant
and insignificant that no one let them know that your
New List was also there. And no one wants to feel
that way.

I believe this New List will further promulgate the
bipolar effects we in the North have been experiencing
in one form or another for quite some time. I can not
logically conclude that a new and seperate list will
solve this problem.

We already have a forum to promote the North and let
every one who is interested in what we in the North
are doing to have fun and foster unity. Why don't we
use it?

Are we using it to its fullest capability? No. And
this is partially my fault. And your fault. And
everyone's fault who reads this list.

Can we change this? Yes. I can become more vocal and
post about what is going on in my local area/region
and what we are doing that I am proud about and want
to share, and I can do the opposite. I can address
those problems we have and ask for solutions on how to
work through them. And through the input of others
with differing veiw points all of us can grow together
and build a stronger local group and region.

Will I post about every little thing that happens?
No. I am a private individual and my private life is
private. If I offer to share, I am open and willing
to take comments, both positive and negative, both
constructive and snipe-y.

I do not think that having a seperate list to promote
unity is the answer. It is just another layer of
segregation and exclusion all of us have experienced
at one time or another in our lives.

We should use what we already have available to us to
do so.

Annais
