His Excellency, not being a member of this list, asked me to post the below
which is in response to Lord Captain Gaelan Garrett's message of last week:

> I believe that an update is in order.
>
> Great Plains RenFair was this last weekend, but we managed to go down to
the
> Barony of Weisenfeuer for Saturday evening to discuss the matter. The
good
> Lord Captain presented evidence that Vatavian Dragonflies had come to know
> (in the Biblical sense) Mead Bees from Northern Ansteorra. He showed
> several samples of dragonflies that had black and gold banded tail
sections.
> These being very disciplined Dragonflies, they had chosen to alight on the
> papers he presented, and there was no need (thankfully) for the ignomy and
> affront of metal pins being stuck through them.
>
> Now, I am personally partial to the color combinations of purple and gold,
> as well as blue and gold, but I must admit that black and gold is a
> combination that I am also quite fond of. So I see no problem there.
>
> There does seem to be a small problem remaining, which I am sure can be
> resolved to our mutual satisfaction. My good friend, Count Sir Barn
> Silveraxe, Baron of Weisenfeuer, (apparently the agent protecting the
> interests of the Northern Mead Bee) appears to be in our debt.
>
> Specifically, he owes us for stud fees.
>
> I am sure that we can come to some agreement in this matter in the coming
> months. We wouldn't want a war to break out over such a silly thing as
> that, would we?
>
> As Lord Captain Gaelan Garrett said, "Justice Must Be Served."
>
> In Service (and occasionally, just a bit of silliness),
>
> Alcyoneus du Battenhelm, Baron of Vatavia

Yes, there will be singing about the dark times."
