As I remember also, any and all groups were allowed to compete. I think it a wonderful idea to reincorporate this back into Toy Tourney...
I know I participated as a Baroness, I don't remember if it was the 'first' one or not, and So did Brigitta, we're both 'Court's. Didn't Bs Mairin participate? Bs Angelina? I believe that Landed Baroness' Retired have participated when asked... I know that Baroness's of all types continue to support it, even if they don't host or take responsibility for a part of the event or activities.
Opening up to more participation from Our pool of Noble and Royal Ladies could only hope to inspire them to get more personally involved in the project...Not a bad thing either...'Stacia

I don't even remember anyone specifying that you had to be from the "North" (i.e. groups from other regions probably could have participated had they wanted to). I sure don't remember it being a competition between only the baronies. Though we also love having help from outside our own group I, too, would love to see the Shires and incipient groups represent themselves if they so wish.

It wasn't specific to landed or court, etc. I think in recent years we've gotten away from that original spin and turned the whole thing into another "regional" type event where activities are sponsored more by "baronies" than by any Baroness who wanted to run something. I believe Contessa Vanessa (Royal, as opposed to noble) even sponsored something at one of the Tourneys.
