This came to me through Trimaris Channels and I would like to share it with a
ll.


This is a quiz designed for helping one fully flesh out an SCA persona.



1)  What is your name?  How did you get your name?  When did you get/were
given
     your name?  Is there an modern equivalent or translation?

2)  Where are you from?  What part of the country do you live in?  Name the
     country or province that you live in.  Be able to point it out on a map.
     How far is it to the capital city?  Have you ever been there?  Are you
fr
     a city, a village, a manor, a farm?  What kind of building do you live
in?
     If you do not live in your birthplace, why not?  How did you move to
where
     you live now and when did you move?  Did you move because you wanted to,
or
     was it arranged?

3)  What is an average day like for you?  If you are in the military,
     what is life like at the garrison/base/barracks?  Do you have a job?
     What are your daily responsibilities?  How do you get paid?  In money or
in
     goods?

     a>  Are you a tradesman?  Do you belong to a guild?  What is your guild
         rank?  Does your work merit this rank?  Do you have to belong to a
guild
         to practice your trade?  If you are an apprentice, how long will you
be
         one until you become a journeyman?  How does your Master treat you?

     b>  If you are gentry, where does your money come from?  Monopolies on
certain trades?  Which ones and how did your family obtain them?

4)  What is your station in life?  Are you a noble, a peasant, or something
in
     between?  Are you wealthy or poor?  Is this likely or very easy to
change?

     a>  Who is your overlord?  What is his title, the name of his
estate/castle
         and what are your duties to him?  Who is your ultimate overlord?

     b>  Do you have servants?  Are you a servant?  How are they paid?  How
         often?  If not in money, what do you get?  What is your job?

5)  With whom do you live?  Are your parents alive?  Do you have any brothers
     sisters?  How many are still alive?  Are you married?  At what age did
you
     get married, and was that a common age?  Do you have any children?  Are
     there people living in your household not related to you, such as
guests,
     retainers, servants, fosterlings, friends?

6)  When are you from?  What year is it?  When were you born?  What season
was
     it?  What was your childhood like?  At what age did you become an adult?

7)  How were women treated in your society?  Did you treat women this way, or
     were your treated as such?  How did it differ from today?

8)  How were you educated?  Did you go to school?  Where?  What did you study
     How many years did you attend school?  What languages can you speak?
Can
     you read and/or write?  How did you learn to do your work? Who taught
you?

9)  What do you wear?  How do you make or obtain your clothes?  Are there law
     regarding what you wear?  What are they?  Are they commonly followed?
Can
     you bribe your way around them?  Do you have many clothes?

Are you now wearing your everyday garb?  How does it differ from your other
garb? Do you wear underwear?  What kind?  How do you care for your clothes?

10)  What did you eat?  What is your typical daily menu?  Does your religion
      affect what you eat?  What spices do you use?  Are they imported?  Does
      your menu change during the year?  How and where do you get what you
eat?
      Who prepares the food?  How is it preserved?  How is it cooked?  What a
      the eating customs/table manners of your culture?

11)  What is your favorite drink?  Can your persona afford it in the quantit
      you drink at an event?  Where does the drink come from?  Do you make
your
      own?

12)  What is the basic unit of money?  How is it divided?  Do you usually
have a
      lot of money on you?  Does it weigh a lot?

13)  What wars have there been in your lifetime where you have lived?  How
did
      they affect you and your family (i.e., lost your lands, starved for
awhile,
      etc?)  Did your country win or lose them?  How did that affect you?

      a>  If you are a fighter, were you involved in the war?  What
armor/weap
          did you use?  How did people obtain their weapons?

14)  What diseases have you had?  How were  they treated?  Who provides
medical
      care?  Have you lost a lot of family to disease?

15)  What, if any, are your religious beliefs?  Do you practice them
faithfully?
      Where do you go to worship?  Do you believe in mythical creatures?
Which
      ones?

16)  How many generations of your family would you have known about?  Where
      and by whom was such information recorded?  How many generations are
alive
      right now?

17)  What kind of legal system do you live in?  Who makes the laws?  Do you
have
      lawyers?  What happens to those who break them?

18)  What do you do for fun?  What entertainments are available to you?
      Do you provide entertainments for others?  How?

19)  How do you keep clean?  How often, if you do, do you bathe?  Do you use
      soap?  Where do you get it from?  What preparations must be made for
you
      have a bath?

20)  Have any events had a profound effect on your life?  Which ones?
      (Now is your chance to dazzle'em with dates!)
