Actually, Tadgh, it means "Enclosed area of land with a rift in it".

What we send in, Skarrgarðr, was changed to Skorragarðr by Laurel to
match extant naming practices of the time.  It's a shame because
Skarrgarðr meant "noisy cattle-raiding melee field".  Which was kinda
cool.

And Scarborough was originally known as Skarðaborg. That's because
Thorgils Skarði founded that burg in the 10th century - It just means
"Skarði's town".
