These are the people to talk to about finding and documenting an authentic
name and getting your device registered. It is also a great opportunity to
come and visit with your heraldic and scribal friends, to work on your
latest project, and to learn from some of the best.

 

Heraldic Garb by Castellana de Andalusia

Feast hall

An informal discussion on heraldic garb in period and why it is appropriate
within the SCA, accompanied by an extensive display of heraldic garb, and
suggestions on how to turn your personal heraldry in to heraldic garb.
Please bring a picture of your heraldry for personal ideas. Available from
10:00 to 12:00 near the Heraldic and Scribal work tables.

10:00 Period Arrow Making 101 with Laurence Huntsman 

How period arrows were made. Why were nocks reinforced. Examples of string
reinforced nocks, horn insert nocks, and hardwood insert nocks.

 

Fletching how it was done and why it is different than today.

 

11:00 Youth Combat in Ansteorra by liliana Barnes

A round table discussion and Q & A about youth combat hosted by the
kingdom's youth marshal.

10:00 Youth Chivalric Combat Marshaling and Authorization by liliana Barnes

 

This is being taught by the kingdom's Youth Chivalric marshal.

 

11:00 Introduction to Pierced Metal Work by AEthelstan AEthelmearson, OL

This is a 30 minute class that introduces the concepts of pierced metal
work. It will be followed by 4 thirty minute sessions of hands on work with
master AEthelstan in small groups. These small groups will be limited to a
total of 20 people and are available by sign up.

1:00 Sideless Surcote Pattern Cutting with Allecia Blackdragon

This is a follow up to the 12:00 class. Allecia will help you measure and
cut a personal pattern. If possible, please bring clear plastic and your
