Is this near Amarillo, or the Fannin TX that is southeast of San Antonia, near Victoria?

15th Annual Fannin History Festival on Saturday, October 15, 2011
9:00 am to 3:00 pm
Fannin Middle School, 4627 S. Rusk.
Admission $2 for adults, $1 for students.

Come to the Festival to see a span of history from the way primitive man hunted
using an atlatl to modern day soldiers and how they fight a war. You can look
forward to seeing 300 exhibits of ancient buildings and historical events created by
Fannin students. There are many hands on activities for all to do such as making
butter, grinding corn, or making tortillas.
The Society for Creative Anachronism, those medieval folk, will set up their
camp and demonstrate battle with broad sword and shield. The Plum Creek
Brigade is turning out to practice their crafts and show students how mountain men
lived in the 1800's. >From potters to blacksmiths, from spinners to weavers, from
an atlatl to World War II soldiers.you can find a lot to see at the Fannin History
Festival. New this year will be the Scottish Celtic Heritage Society featuring a
bagpipe player and a flautist. Shortbread cookies and scones will be for sale.
Returning this year are the Kwahadi Indian Dancers performing on stage at 12:00.
*Thunder, the WT buffalo, will spend the day
*The Texas Tech School of Pharmacy Museum will show how medicine was
made in the good ol' days.
*Check out Revolutionary War, Civil War, and World War II soldier
re-enactors.
*Educators from the Square House Museum in Carson County will
demonstrate A Day in the Life of a Lady in a Dugout
*Grind corn with stone on stone or fling an atlatl with the Panhandle
Archeology Society.
*The US 1st Infantry Division will have a display of D-Day artifacts and
uniforms to honor The Greatest Generation.
*The Lone Star Shootists bring their awesome collection of 300 historical
guns for viewing
*Follow the process of textile-making, including natural dyes, spinning,
weaving, and quilting.
*Livestock including a horse and dogs herding sheep
*The National Weather Service will bring the earliest weather records and
weather instruments
*Look over the technology of farming...a $180,000 John Deere tractor
*Music by Jerre's Merry Fiddlers (Suzuki violin students playing classical
and blue grass selections---yodeling too.)
*Jazz it up with Stew Moss and his one man band
*Sahara Nar Belly Dancers will perform on stage
*Joe D. Rogers wheelwright and carpenter extraordinaire
*The Frontier Regiment depicting the Indian Wars will have a camp set up
*An authentic Southern Cheyenne camp display with Ed Benz.
