serve to provide the Northern Region with the expierience it will need in order
to fullfill its destiny of becoming its own Kingdom.</FONT></DIV>

than local chapter events. In the same way that you choose to support your
child's little league sport with a donation instead of buying yourself a new
helm, forge, or bolt of fabric. </FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT size=2>I</FONT><FONT size=2>f you understand and care that we are now
making our children's history, then we as a region must support ourselves to the
point of self sacrifice. Like a good heroic deed on the field, a heroic
deed for the greater good of the history of the SCA, the Kingdom of Ansteorra,
the Northern Region of Ansteorra, and the local chapters that make the
foundations of that history.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT size=2>Northern Regional identity is childlike in comparison to
individual and local chapter identities, and needs to be nurtured on a kingdom
level so that Ansteorra is thought of as Texas AND Oklahoma. I don't know
how many times I heard this year at Pennisc, Ansteorra is Texas and is
great. This very much hurt my feelings. Anything we can do to show
the Known World that we enjoy playing this game, we should do, i.e. Northern
Regional Warlrd.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV>This idea has come up before and it is impractical to try and choose a
Warlord at Tribute as it traditionally serves as the Kingdom's last major War
College before Gulf Wars. I know that last year Don Donovan was trying to
get a rapier war college going. Also the original idea of Tribute was as a
fund raiser for the Kingdom. It would be very hard to continue all of
these and add the championships at the same time. I think that we just
need to work a little more on refining the Warlord event and see where it takes
