NK - Archery Practice, Maybe

Greetings,

The weather is still too hot for archery practice. I did hold one this last
Sunday but unfortunately no one came (I guess everyone was too hungover
from the revel the night before:-(). I did set up a pavilion so there would
be shade. Given the current forecast for the weekend it may even be to hot
with shade this coming Sunday.

I have thought about holding evening practices at the range. Does Thursday
evening around Seven-ish sound good to you folks? Thursday is the only
evening I have free. Wednesday is the weekday fighter practice. There is
still enough light to get some shooting in before the sun sets. The
forecast this Thursday looks like its going to be hot and/or thunderstorms.

As a rule of thumb. If the physical temperature is above 95 degrees
fahrenheit no archery practice will be held (The heat index will be
higher). If I do hold it on Thursday and their is an Ozone Alert for that
day no archery practice will be held.
(Anyone know what time they stop checking?)

The archery range is located on 129th E. Ave. just south 11th Street behind
the Curt's gas station. It was where the revel was held this last weekend.

So, I will hold an archery practice this Thursday evening at 7PM. if 1)
It's not above 95 2) No ozone alert day 3) Not storming in the evening. If
you have any questions email or call me 743-5883 (ask for Kostia).

In Service,
Ld. Konstantin Drozd
Archery Marshall

PS - If you are new to SCA Archery. Aluminum arrows are OK for practice but
not for competition at events. Wooden arrows are preferred.. No compound
bows (no wheels). Modern traditional bows are acceptable including
takedowns. Longbows or recurves. If you are new to archery start with a
light weight bow 30 pound draw weight or less.
Lord Carlyle du Troyes and I can answer most of your questions concerning
SCA archery.
