So, just to make sure I understand better.  
I show up at an event w/ lets say a cross stitch picture and just go to the
appropiate area and enter it.  

I have entered many things in mundane fairs and had good results.  The only
reason I ask these questions, is that there are so "requirements" such as a
frame, size of the item etc etc. 

I did check out the A&S page on the SCA site, but it was not helpful as far
as the do's and don'ts for an entry.   It appears to be more of a resources
page of lots of other web sites.
