Greetings

Just a reminder that the Demo at Pitt State University in Pittsburg,
Kansas on Friday May 7th is a go. It will be held on the Main Campus
Quad commonly called the "Oval" on campus. Start time will be 11:30am
and will run to around 4:00pm. If you are planning to participate as a
fighter or Arts and Science demonstrator (i.e. you have a display piece,
or you are going to be working on a project at the demo) It is suggested
that you try to arrive by 11:00am so we can get you set up. So far we
have one small
sun screen / pavilion and a fairly good sized Tent (I believe Master
Alan
said it was like 16x20, have misplaced the notes with the actual size).
If you plan on bringing a Sun screen with you give yourself some extra
time to set up, of course assistance will be available.

In case of Rain, All A&S will be moved under the Tent and the Fighting
will go on as weather permits. For Last Chance weather info before
coming in call Ld. Tristan at (316) 638-4196 and/or go to this website:
http://cnn.com/WEATHER/html/PittsburgKS.html

PLEASE Check the weather. Light rain isn't a problem. Severe weather
WILL
cancel all activities since an alternate indoor site on campus could not
be had within reasonable cost.

Archery Will Not be allowed.

Tables and chairs will be provided.

There is a grill, a sub shop, and many snack and vending machines in the
Overman Student Center about 100 feet from where we will set up.
Pizza Hut, MacDonalds, Taco Bell, and 1106 Drive-In are within 4 blocks
of campus as well as the restaurant and Deli on the Mall about 6 blocks
south.

As far as peak times go, 11:30am till 12:30pm will be our busiest hour
of the day Many students will be crossing the oval at this time heading
out for lunch. Thereafter we figured that between 10 till the hour
through
10 after the hour ( at 1pm, 2pm, 3pm ) will be the other more busy
times.

LOADING - UNLOADING - PARKING. I won't blow smoke on this topic. This is
going to be a hassle. We are going to arrange 2 possible unloading zones
and hopefully will hear back by Wednesday on driving onto the oval for
those of us taking in HUGE items like the tent. Parking is scarce near
the oval. So after you have unloaded, you or someone with you will have
to drive and park back over behind the Library and Football stadium and
hump it back to the oval. Depending on how crowded the Open Parking is
it will be about a 200 to 250 yard walk back to the oval.

Merchanting was not approved by PSU for this Demo.

The University has asked that we STRICTLY ENFORCE Two major rules.

1) No (Non-SCA) Students Can Participate in Armored Combat.
We may armor them up, let them test swing weapons. But No Hitting
or Being hit.

2) Alcohol can not be consumed. For the A&S it may be displayed,
described, and generally bragged about, but no taste tests.

A follow-up Get together for PSU Students and the Public who are
interested and want more info will take place Sunday, May 9th at 2:00pm
in Lincoln Park. Alternate location for Follow-up will be The Pittsburg
Martial Artists, Dojang, 1/2 block off Broadway on West 3rd Street.

A map of the Campus will be made available via Email to any who request
it along with directions to loading and unloading areas and parking
areas.

If necessary for out of shire folks, Tent space and limited crash space
will be available.
