Well, unfortunately comps actually stands for comprehensive exams - horrid
awful exams that universities make you take before they will give you an
advanced degree like a doctorate or a masters.  I believe Rowan is going for
her doctorate..........and after comps comes the doctoral thesis - whoo
hoo!!!!!
