Greetings to the most wonderful Barony in the Known World,

I came up with something that I hope will become a wonderful tradition and
learning experience for the Barony. I was thinking of things to do with
the Children during Winterkingdom and the idea of a time line came to
me. It could be looked at in a book format or displayed on a wall and it
will include both historical figures and events and also info on the
personas of our Barony and society (open to any who would want to speak to
the children)

How I am looking to develop it is through having people come in and tell
their persona stories to the children. The kids can then draw and write
info about the persona to put on the timeline. We will also have
information sheets on historic personages to add, so that it sets the dream
we play into the context of history for our children. This will give a
wonderful way for our children to become exposed to the personas, as mine
have been exposed to this mostly at demos. It should assist them in
building a framework of history, that they can add onto as they mature.

Things I need, for those who would like to help. Computer paper, the old
connected type for a dot matrix printer, that would be great to lay this
out on. Dover Coloring books, or other references, that give people in
period garb and some info on them. We have several of these, but the more
the merrier. I will take and copy applicable pages and return them to
you. One that focuses on Royalty would be great as would famous battles,
to set the historic time frame. If someone wants to donate some sissors,
glue and markers for the project, that too would be welcome, but I can
supply these if needed. (I forgot to ask Lady deCalais about what supplies
the MOC has) A copy of your heraldic device would be nice too, but not
required. (those are always fun to color)

Now, the most important thing I will need are some friendly sorts to come
and talk to the kids. It would be similar to the persona stories I done at
demos. I have just under 2 hours, so should be able to fit in 3 or so
stories. I will need the basics on your persona, so that I can find some
pictures that will correlate to it, and an approxamate amount of time
needed. Couples who are together in time are welcome to come as such, but
if you represent different times we will keep those separate. I am
scheduled from 1-2:50, so let me know what part of that time frame you are
available. I am hoping that this can become a ongoing activity that will
enrich our kids and with all the people we have, we can do this for
years. I also need to get an idea of where in history most of our personas
are from, so I have enough room for them on the timeline. I can very the
spacing allowed by our space requirements. I know there are alot of people
in the late period, so will probably cover decades there. Are there enough
people from before 1000 to need more room that a 100 years to a page?

Thank you in advance for the assistance, I hope this works well and becomes
an asset to the Barony and her children,
In service to the Dream
Susan the Curious

ps, I am also looking for a name for the project if anyone is so inspired
