I did find it interesting they imply the presence of the Norse as settlers in areas where they had not previously been thought resident.

As Dairmaid said...they left out some details which would clarify things.   But, being the BBC _news_ service, they didn't dedicate the resources for a fully detailed report.  They posted a blurb giving the reader something you can try to follow up on if you are interested.   Hopefully the completed study itself will be available for general review in the near future.
