Ok I am writeing this email in defense of myself. I am
sick of haveing to defend myself and on public lists.
If I have offended anyone I do apologize and If I seem
"Contraversial" it is because I wont let people walk
all over me. Now things have come down to the point
where someone I need to be able to get ahold of is
blocking me from emailing over this stupid thing with
my signature. We are supposed to be mature adults
here.. the sca is supposed to be fun not some place to
hunt for excuses to persecute and jump all over
someone. I have been in the sca for 10 years and have
seen this off and on for that amount of time but it
has gotten worse in the last 6 months to a year here
in ansteorra. MY signature was ment as a joke between
me and several pagans who are friends. It has been
there since i opened the account. Now if you are so
sensative that my little sig bothers you then you dont
need to say... watch heavy weapons fighting for it is
violent.... or go to events cause there is drinking at
most of them... or conversations that may enflame
carouseing. I was informed that most of the populace
of the north doesnt like me... Ohh who are you? Let me
know and tell me y,.,,, if it is because of my sig I
do feel for you because you musnt have any friends for
people say stupid things. We come into the SCA to have
fun and to act as if we are in the time period our
character and etc from. We are not here to find
trivial things and jump people cause we can. I try to
go around and make friends and thought I had quite a
few in the northern region as well as a few in other
regions. I love to go to the fireside gela's and get
to know others. I hide nothing in who I am and dont
expect anyone else to either. I dont mean to come off
as rude, beligerent, disrespectful, contraversial
etc.. I say things like i see them. I dont call down a
person and rag them out over their religion or tag
lines. I have better things to do.. and alot better
than defending myself. Before you decide you dont like
me etc.. at least meet me and then come to a educated
deduction before you decide.. "Well I dont like him he
is too honest". Now I am not saying that everyone is
saying these things... actually i have only had 4
people online and one via phone complaining. I have
had quite a few people defend me and tell me they
liked my sig. If they would have came to me and said
nicely that they didnt like it etc I may have changed
it.. attack me and I fight back. I was also told "This
will ruin your SCA career" Uhhh last I checked this is
a game... not a livelyhood.. it is ment to be fun.
When I first started a person could have fun and not
be judged for every little action. We would sit around
the fire and enjoy each others company, we would sing
and dance and carouse. People got mad that is the way
with people but they got over it and moved on instead
of holding grudges and trying to play... "Power
games". Shesh I see enough of that in real life I dont
wanna see it here as well. People need to put the
enjoyment back in the game instead of trying to kill
the dream in others because "They are too
contraversial". I will put this to rest now and if you
got a gripe, greevance or complaint about me write me
not the list and we will hash it out. I am a open
person and have nothing to hide. On this list my ICQ #
as well as my email address... write me msg me etc...
I will answer. Just dont judge me until you get to
know me. This letter was not written to get a "Rise
out of anyone" or to encourage fighting in the lists
as I have been accused of.
