You don't have to. That is your right but that does not mean that is the
end all and do all of everyone else.

I see this as no difference than what the rest of the SCA does. No matter
what part of the game you look at there are those ( a minority) that do not
play with honor. So why would you expect it to be different with the
Assassin guild.

> I stress that they are a minority, but well capable of dealing misery and

high-rank "kill".

Then I am sure the Assassin was removed from the ranks of the Assassins
guild as there are very strict rules and guidelines within the Charter for
the Assassin Guilds as to how an Assassin is to conduct themselves. By the
way this kind of behavior has been seen on list fields as well. But as you
say it is a minority and is usually dealt with by those in charge.

You are wrong. The persona is not damaged even if it is a King. Which by the
way a former King and Queen have played. The way it works is that ALL
parties must agree to play and to the rules of play BEFORE the contract is
put out. And in the event the contract is fulfilled the person who placed
the contract must give the "victim" a gift and offer something to the guild
and a gift to the assassin. And all goes on as before with everyone sharing
a laugh over the fun. No persona is lost unless the "victim" wants to of his
own accord.

Any who want to know the actual details of how it works can e-mail me and I
will get you a copy of the charter.

Not that I support the assassins in any way. Personally I think they are
vile and have no honor to kill the way they do. But I think they have a
right to play their game.
