Assuming there is sufficient interest (actually, 1 person is sufficient
for me, I'm easy), I am planning a fabric class/Drape and Pillage this
Saturday April 20. I plan to go to the Hancock's at the Farm and the
Jo-Ann's at Southroads (across the street from Promenade, about 4 doors down
from the Barnes & Noble). I will be at the Jo-Ann's at 1:00 pm Saturday (we
will meet there), then we will go to the Hancock's at the Farm.
If there is enough desire and I have enough energy, we can also go to
Jo-Ann's at
68th St. or the really nice place whose name I forget now, but three places
is absolutely my limit and only two may be feasible for me. Among the
questions I plan to discuss are:

1. What do you want the garb you are planning to make do?

2. What do you plan to do while wearing the garb?

3. What is the "hand" of the fabric and how will it affect my garb?

4. Is polyester evil?

5. How much yardage should I buy to achieve my ends?

6. How should I prepare fabric for sewing?

7. How should I care for garb when it is finished?

8. Natural fabrics (which will be explained) versus man-made fabrics

9. Anything else which comes up in the course of the class

Unfortunately, it is not realistic for me to segue this into a cutting
and design class on the same day. I do plan to have such a class in the
near future, however.
If there is a great desire by many to have the class on a different day
I will consider it.
