Well, your baroness still owes you money for the fab breakfast - I'll get it
to the next one of you that I see!!!

And that would have been a good idea to move the picnic tables - wish we'd
done it....... next time.....

Subject: [Northkeep] Thanks for the tavern patronage!

We wish to extend a thanks to all who visited the tavern at Castellan, both
for those who came for food and drink and those who just wanted to stop by
and say hi. We broke even (whew!) so I would say it was a success. Saw a lot
of old friends and made quite a few new ones, which is a good "by-product"
of
having a lot of food around!
In the Middle Ages, a tavern was the customary meeting place for locals as
well as travelers, to gather and share their lives, and was itself a part of
those lives. A good tavern should still do that, and I was pleased to see
groups of people gather their chairs in the shade behind the tavern to share
time together while eating. No reason we can't make breakfast as well as
noontime meals as much fun as our evening feasts!
It might be a nice idea for future taverns, to maybe consider moving the
picnic tables closer, temporarily. I believe it would encourage folks to
congregate there, and have one more good opportunity to get to know each
other better over a cool beverage and good food.
Many, many thanks again to our Baroness and feast steward Lynn, who kindly
helped with sharing cooler space - this would not have been realistically
possible without that, since hot days can sure be a potential nightmare for
food service. We hope everyone enjoyed the food, and that the tavern was
helpful in making your day more fun.
Since fun is the prime directive, in that interest, we'd appreciate some
feedback. It would be helpful I am sure, for whomever the potential
tavernkeepers in the future are, to have a good idea of what works, and what
doesn't.
Sound off as to what you enjoyed about the tavern, and what you did not.
What
foods did you like, what was a "loser," what else would you like to see
served?
In Appreciation,
The Keepers of Tavern On The Spleen
