I'm currently reading about the Battle of Towton, Palm Sunday 1461.
Estimates of the people killed were 28,000-38,000 (one side said one, the
other made the other claim). Fought in a blizzard, with the bodies piling
up and making it hard to walk, and the blood soaking into the snow, making
for a quagmire that turned the nearby rivers red for three days. The bodies
so choked the flanking river that the fleeing army were able to run across
on the bodies of the drowned.

A little rain? Pfff, you guys can do that.
