This may interest those thinking of going to V'tavia for Nine Worthies.
It's about 3.5 hrs driving time.

Lots & lots of fighting, fun, etc. for those who didn't get their fun quotient at Gulf.

Hey Your Excellency. Note the Baronial challenge round. Think you could come up with a short note a team from NK could present to get into it?

>Greetings, good Gentles, from the Worthies Pas D'Armes staff!
>
> We would like to take a few moments to update you on some of
> the information
> concerning the activities of the day (fighting info is at the
> end, as it is
> the longest). Please note that this is a planned schedule -
> listed items are subject to change.
>
> SITE OPENING TIME: His Majesty has asked that we start the
> fighting at 10am.
> We are therefore moving the site opening time from 9am to
> 8am. We may not
> have the troll booth open until 9am, but you will be welcome
> to show up and begin setting up at 8am.
>
> KINGDOM FUNDRAISER: The fundraiser will be a silent auction,
> where many
> items with ties to Calontir are expected to be presented
> (such things as a
> tablecloth and napkin set with sewn Calon crosses on them,
> curboli leather
> half-gauntlets with the same, some beaded Calon Crosses, etc.
> If you care to
> bring items of ANY type to donate to the auction, they will be gladly
> accepted.
>
> PAGEANTRY: Please bring your banners and pennants and such,
> so that we may create a strong period ambiance.
>
> CLASSES: At this time, three classes are planned: Morgan
> Cain will be
> teaching a class on the Nine Worthies, Friar Thomas will be
> teaching a class
> on Medieval Tourneys, and Michael Von Bergen will be teaching
> a class on
> period arrow and bolt making. Times for these classes will
> be announced on-site.
>
> ARCHERY: Archery is planned to start at 10am. The shoots,
> in no particular
> order, are: 100-arrow shoot, wand shoot, William Tell shoot,
> and, time and space permitting, a royal round.
>
> CHILDREN'S ARCHERY: This tourney is tentatively scheduled
> for the archer lunch break (12:30ish).
>
> FEAST: The feast is currently scheduled for 6:30-ish pm.
> The menu that Ala has cooked up is sumptuous:
>
> Roasted Chicken (Black sauce and Strawberry sauce), eggs w/
> onion, white bread - herb butter, fried dates
>
> Garlic Pork loin, rice, apecian carrots, herb bread - herb butter
>
> Mustard Beef, fried beans, honey sesame bread - herb butter
>
> Pear tarts, baked custard pie
>
> water, apple cider, apple tea
>
> FIGHTING: If you have not joined a three person team yet,
> we have people
> still looking for team members! We will have a list of teams
> needing members at the list field.
>
> Weapons must conform to Calontir combat conventions.
>
> If possible, teams are asked to bring a 3x5 card with the
> names of their team
> members written phonetically for the heralds to use, along
> with any other info they care to have announced.
>
> In the first three scenarios, challenger teams, in order of
> signing up at the
> list field, will be called out. There will be a shield tree, with the
> attributed arms of each Worthy Team displayed. The 'captain'
> of the first
> challenging team will issue a challenge to one of the Worthy
> Teams. After
> the combats, the shield of the Worthy Team that has just been
> challenged will
> be reversed - this team cannot be challenged again until all
> the Worthy Teams
> have received a challenge. The next team may challenge any of
> the 9 remaining
> teams, and so on, until all Worthy Teams have received a
> challenge. At such
> time as all teams have been challenged, all shields will
> again be turned
> forward, and the next challenger team on the list will be
> able to choose from
> all 10 Worthy Teams again. (This is being done to keep our
> Worthy Teams from
> being worn out, and to give them all an equal number of challenges.)
>
>
> The plan for the Pas fighting follows a period belief of how a knight
> progresses in skill and prowess, and is thus:
>
> First Round - Individual Combat: Challenger Teams will be
> called out. After
> a challenge has been issued, lots will then be drawn to
> determine who fights
> whom, and three single combat fights of counted blows (1, 3, 5, or 7,
> determined by each individual challenger) will be held, one
> after the other.
> This round will be fought with weapon and shield.
>
> Second Round: Team Combat at the Barrier: Challenger Teams
> will be called
> out. Once challenge has been issued, teams will form upon
> the barrier,
> using what weapons they wish, and combat will commence, until
> all on one side
> have been vanquished. In this combat, the only acceptable
> targets are above the waistline.
>
> Third Round: Open Field Team Combat: Challenger Teams will
> be called out.
> Once challenge has been issued, teams will meet upon the field, using
> whatever weapons they wish, and combat shall commence, until
> all on one side have been vanquished.
>
> Fourth Round: Baronial Challenge (Bragging Rights): This
> round is open to
> teams sponsored by Landed Baronages. All such teams will
> take the field in a
> melee, all teams against the others, with what weapons they
> will. Combat
> will proceed until one team remains. Winning team may claim
> their bragging rights as the 'Most Worthy Barony.'
>
> Fifth Round: Open Melee: All teams wishing to participate
> will take the
> field, and will combat all other teams on the field, with
> what weapons they will. Combat will proceed until one team remains.
>
> Sixth Round: Worthies Against the World Melee: All teams wishing to
> participate will take the field, Worthy Teams on one side,
> and Challenger
> Teams on the other, with what weapons they will. Combat
> shall commence until one side or the other is vanquished.
>
> Seventh Round: Grand Melee: All combatants who wish to
> participate will
> take the field, with what weapons they will. As fighting
> commences, all combatants fight all others, save that they may not
> immediately strike the
> person to their right or left at the call to 'lay on.' Fighting will
> continue until one person remains.
>
> Final Round: Worthy Team Melee: To be announced, if time allows and
> dependant on the stamina of our Worthies.
